I started teaching at 18 years old in 1992. Alvin, the brother of my best friend was doing badly in POA. I understood his challenges as I had been taught by the same school teacher two years earlier. Nevertheless, I passed the subject with a distinction. I was encouraged when Alvin scored an A1 for POA in his GCE O level. You cannot imagine the feeling of satisfaction for an 18 year old who was teaching for the first time.
Since then, I have taught in private universities, polytechnics, MOE and international schools, mentoring and nurturing students who aspire to do well not only for the exams but also in their career.
